Coats for Casa Pacifica Drive
Old coats that do not fit anyone in your family can take up a lot of room in your closets. While you could just let the coats sit there for years to come, there is a much better option to open up more room in your home. The 5th Annual Coats for Casa Pacifica Drive is the perfect place to drop off all of your unwanted, gently used coats.
The Coat Drive is going on tomorrow, January 10th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Three Springs Park in Westlake Village. The purpose of the event is to collect gently used winter clothes such as sweaters, coats, hoodies, winter hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves that will be donated to people in need to help them stay warm in the cold months. The Coat Drive helps to benefit Casa Pacifica in Camarillo, which is an organization that offers different services to help people in need, including medical assistance, emergency shelter, and other community based interventions.
Casa Pacifica was started in 1988 by a group of citizens in Ventura County who were concerned about the lack of services that were available for children who were removed from their homes by Child Protective Services. Their initial concern evolved into a vision for a 24 hour, campus based center that offers many different assessments, medical services, crisis care, and educational services for neglected and abused children.
Between public and private partnerships, Casa Pacifica was able to raise $10 million to build the Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families to help neglected, abused, and severely emotionally disturbed children. The headquarters are located only five miles away from the Pacific Ocean to help children stay safe while they are at home and school.
Agoura Sash & Door in Westlake Village would like to encourage you to help those in need in the local community by donating your gently used winter coats to the Casa Pacifica Coat Drive.
